Zhi Ern likes to build.
As a mechanical engineer, he is inspired by the elegant design solutions that plants and animals use to thrive in their challenging environments. By applying design lessons learned from nature, he strives to create systems that function in harmony with the world we live in. Fascinated with how things fly, he has built a variety of air vehicles ranging from hand launch UAVs and quadcopters to insect-scale flapping wing robots.
Zhi Ern earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University, an M.S. in Aeronautics and Astronautics from Stanford University and a Ph.D in Engineering Science from Harvard University.
